Today’s Mission: Get Rid of the Phrase “Fake it till you make it”
In the world of sales, we need 3 things:
1 - A Product or Service to Sell
Everyone who wants to sell needs to have a product or service to sell. Of course, you can’t expect to have people pay you for nothing. Do some research about what products you would like to sell. If you don’t want to go through the trouble of looking out for physical products, then sell your skills. Provide a service to people that need a professional like you.
2 - People to Sell to
You don’t want your products and service to just stay stagnant because all of your hard work will be wasted. You need people who you can provide your service and sell your products so that your business will have progress.
3 - Knowledge and Skills
Starting a business requires knowledge and skills. If you don’t have enough knowledge about the service or product that you’re selling, your customers will most likely lose their trust in you.
Nowhere in these does it say that people need to pretend in order to sell. Do you have to be a pretender? The big answer is NO. What it means to Fake it till you make it, is that CONFIDENCE SELLS.
Pretending that you know everything will hurt the process and destroy your credibility. What should you do? Learn how to sell it. Have the knowledge and skill to actually pull it off. Know it. Own it. Have the confidence to say “I’m gonna know it so I own it.” Sell well.
